ÍCARO

ÍCARO chooses to illuminate our bodies.

A provocation at the limits of what a light can be: a lampshade that leaves the space it traditionally occupies and turns the person who wears it into the source of light.

Perched above the head, light becomes part of the body, moving with it, following every gesture, every change of direction. The object ceases to simply illuminate its surroundings and becomes a luminous presence in itself: part lamp, part sculpture, part playfulness.

There is humour in the gesture, but also something strangely serious. To wear light is to make ourselves the centre of illumination. To highlight what is most important: ourselves, present.

Like Icarus, who chose to fly too close to the sun, the piece embraces excess, risk and a certain beautiful irrationality.

ÍCARO explores the ultimate state of a light object: not to illuminate a space, but to illuminate us.
